Obama’s lack of curiosity is becoming a liability

Obama Ad Hits McCain for Being Computer Illiterate

Barack Obama steps in it~~again!  Barack Hussein Obama II certainly is demonstrating his superior lack of judgement for all to see. Do we want someone who is commander-in-chief to look at “facts” and make judgements with no background knowledge, or has no curiosity as to why? It appears his lack of curiousity is also highlighting a  severe lack of his management capabilities. If he was curious, he would have asked why John Mc Cain doesn’t use email before spent peoples hard earned money running it!

As the Boston Globe notes 0n March 4, 2000:

“McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan – Ted Williams is his hero – but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.”

To make matters worse, it happens that John does use the internet, and certainly understands the importance of it, according to this interview in the NY Times (link) on July 13,2008.

While this certainly once again highlights Senator Obama’s poor judgement and analytical skills, it also highlights something much more important. It highlights how lacking Senator Barack Obama is in life experience in his management skills, of which one of the most important aspects will be his time management skills and judgement.

Senator Mc Cain has  proven leadership experience in the US Navy where he had to manage and delegate responsibilities. Senator Mc Cain has  also expressed in interviews that he prefers to talk to people over written communication. Anyone involved in management today can tell you the many problems that are encountered in dealing with issues via e-mail, because of how often they are misinterpreted. In fact, the standard managerial advice is NOT to email people about important issues, as they lack intonation, facial expression and the run the risk of  being misinterpreted.

Again, we really don’t expect Senator Obama to understand this because of his inexperience in management, but every time we forget he reminds us once again, when it comes to executive matters– he does not even grasp the position he is seeking!

Excellent post John. The thing that comes to mind when reading your post is John 7:24 “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” While the Socialists Democrats are quick to criticize McCain for not being a “computer guru”, they ignore the fact that his suffering in Vietnam has created complications in his life that make typing difficult. Being a computer programmer myself, quite frankly I could care less whether McCain is as good at typing skills as Obama. Leadership is about delegation of tasks and delegation of authority, and if a president needs typing work to be done I would *hope* that he would delegate these tasks. What I want in the “big chair” is a man that is capable of sound judgment and decision making. Obama is clearly NOT capable of sound judgment, as demonstrated by his voting record.

Your comments about management skills are also on target. Obama has simply not had enough time in decision making to develop the critical management skills needed for the highest office in the land. In my “day job” we are constantly being told to just “pick up the phone” to resolve problems, and avoid email. Problems tend to escalate with email, while these same problems can be resolved in real time over the phone.

Voting “present” or not voting at all in controversial decisions (as is the pattern with Obama) is not the way to develop critical management skills.

As Joe Biden (his current VP running mate) once said about Obama, the Presidency is “No time for on the job training”

    Marc,

That certainly is an interesting passage of scripture-you made me go back and refresh myself on it. Yes, it was one of Jesus’ best moves, wasn’t it? Here in the midst of the time the Jewish leaders are seeking him out to arrest Him, He doesn’t show up with His family, but lays low. Then He makes His way to the Temple and is teaching in their midst. If they move on with their plot they are exposed in front of the people, while Jesus makes His case that His teachings are from God abd how to judge teachings rightly in front of the people. The Pharisee’s are afraid to make their case in the light or confront Jesus with their case in a forum which He could answer them under no restraints.

Certainly our Lord left us many examples of how to deal with people and act in situtations when people were trying to deceive the crowds and expose them.

I am troubled at how Mr. Obama is put on a billboard and on a tv screen to represent one image, yet when put under a microscope, nearly every time the story changes.

Yet, as you mention, I am even more troubled at the casual way we are choosing the leaders of the free world. As a personnel manager I wouldn’t consider Barack Obama to be a CEO of a Fortune 500 company due to lack of experience, why in the world would I consider him to be manager in charge of the free world?

Thank you for your offer to guest blog!

    His Blessings,
    John Balliet
