Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

4/22/06

Psalms 122:6

1I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
2Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
3Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
4Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
5For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

Psalms 122:1-9

Zola Levitt has gone to be with the Lord, and in the words of his ministry, "Zola’s promotion to the home office came through" on April 19, 2006. For those of you that don't know who Zola is (and he still is), Zola was a Jewish-Christian that came to know the Lord in 1971, and has been active in the ministry ever since. For those of us that are "grafted in" to the tree of eternal life through faith in Christ, Zola's active teaching ministry brought us all closer to the roots of our faith. His ministry is still operating at Zola Levitt Ministries. His closing line in his popular TV show was "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", and we should all continue in that spirit of prayer.

God bless you Zola in your peace in the Lord,
Job.

He Is Risen!

4/14/06

May the Lord bless you this Easter! This easter while celebrating Easter with friends at family, remember to spend some time with the Lord Jesus, and remember what He did for you on the Cross. God the Father sent His Son in human flesh, with all of the temptations, but without sin. God the Son was sent as the perfect sacrifice to attone for your sins, and conquer death. He has also promised you eternal life in His presence if you believe in Him and put your faith in Him as your Lord and Saviour. The Bible says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9). While many people "confess with their mouth", and say that they "believe in their heart", only God can judge whether this is a genuine act of saving faith. Part of genuine faith is doing what the Lord asks. We all fail to do as He asks, but if you are taking pride in your sin, or thinking that your sins are not sins, or believe that this belief gives you license to do things that are not pleasing to the Lord, then perhaps you should examine your own heart. If you really want to get to know the Lord Jesus on a personal basis and have Him help you change your life, and understand what is pleasing in God's eye, then we suggest you get to know His Word, the Bible, and get into fellowship with other believers. The best way to do this is find a good Bible believing Church in your neighbourhood. If you are new to the Christian faith, or have wandered away, try attending Church this Easter Sunday, and then make it a point to be a regular member in the Body of Christ, the Church.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(Matthew 7:21-23)

God bless you,
Job

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

12/20/05

As the secular world continues its battle to remove everything Christian from the world, it is time to redouble our efforts to bring the light of Christ into a darkened world. Remember that the next time you see a "happy holidays" sign posted in a window begging for your shopping dollars, and remember that their darkened Christmas is because "they know not what they do". Also remember to spread Christmas cheer by wishing those around you a Merry Christmas. Most of all, remember the reason for Christmas. It is a time to reflect on our Saviour's birth, His sinless life, and what He did on the cross as He bore our sins - a burden that was far too heavy for us to bear.

While we do not know the actual "date" of Christ's birth, we celebrate it at this time each year in remembrance of the fact that God the Father sent His only begotten Son to be born of a virgin in a manger. He sent Him as a humble and sinless servant, which should remind us of how we should live. He sent His Son to reach out to us, and save us from our sinful nature. The actual date of His birth is not the issue (although many people frequently try to make it an issue). His birth, death, and resurrection should be in our thoughts, prayers, and praises every day of the year. This Christmas, as you celebrate this with your family and loved ones, try to keep the focus on the "reason for the season", and try to carry that thought with you throughout the coming year.

Some of you reading this message may be missing out on the joy that you see around you. You open your Christmas packages to find "more stuff", but still feel empty inside. Some of you are quite wealthy, but still unable to purchase true peace and joy. If this is the case I encourage you to find true life, and eternal life, with the living God. This new life is both easy to find and free, and comes wrapped in the Word of God. To unwrap the greatest gift you will ever receive, just open the Bible and start reading, and ask the creator of the universe, Jesus Christ, into your heart. With the help of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, you will have no problems unwrapping this gift, and you will be led into a new and everlasting life in both this world and in the world to come. As you begin to unwrap your gift you will also discover new friends (many of them are your neighbors). You will also discover that you lose interest in some of the "old pleasures" as you find that they were neither pleasing to you or to God. This is the new life that God would like to give you for free, as the one gift you will treasure for the rest of your life. You can start opening this present right now by getting down on your knees, and asking Jesus Christ to come into your heart as your Lord and Saviour.

God bless you all, and Merry Christmas,
Job

Please Pray for the Hurricane Katrina Survivors
and Send Your Support Checks to Red Cross, Salvation Army...

9/1/05

Heavenly Father we thank You and Praise You for the blessings You have bestowed upon Your people. Even in hard times such as these, we must take time to praise You for giving us life through Your Son, Christ Jesus. We would like to lift up those who are suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Lord, please comfort those who have lost loved ones in this tragedy, and help the survivors with their basic needs like food, water, and shelter. We also pray that you bring peace to this troubled region, and bring Your justice to the law breakers that are taking advantage of this situation. We also ask that You use this opportunity to reach out to the unsaved, and show them that their is a better way for their lives, both in this world, and in the world to come. We ask this in the name of your only begotten Son Jesus,
Amen

For those of you out there that can afford to help, we would like to encourage you to send your donations to the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and other charities that are dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane. One of the problems of living in a fallen world, is that there are people that prey on people's emotions with false charities. While there are a number of legitimate charity organizations that are helping those in need, there are also a large number of "scam charities" that are only in it for the money. Two excellent organizations that are leading the way in providing assistance are the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross. Another excellent source of information on the hurricane relief effort is FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), which is an agency of the U.S. Government. FEMA is a good source for finding a wide assortment of reputable charity organizations, in addition to other information about disaster relief, preparedness, and general information. When you make a donation, be sure to indicate that "you would like your funds to go towards the relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina". This is the largest relief effort ever handled by these charities, so they can use your financial assistance.

God bless you,
Job.

Another fix to the prayer list

2/12/05

We have just made some changes to our front page to make it more readable in other browsers and PC's. Our new prayer list should be available to Mac's and other PC's that were having problems with the new embedded frame prayer list. We have just converted to style sheets that should work with most browsers.

We have been fixing a number of things around the site lately. We do appreciate your patience over the years. The fields are white, and there is a lot to do.

God bless you,
Job

oops... Job broke the front page

1/30/05

One of the problems with the web, is that everybody has their own favorite monitor or browser, and they are all different. If you design something for one group of people, you almost automatically end up breaking the web page somewhere on some on person's monitor and system. Oops. I am truly sorry about that, but I did manage to break our front page for the Macintosh fans out there. Some of the people with Mac browsers were having problems getting their email at Bornagain.com. A while back I placed a series of scrolling prayers above the login box on our front page. On some Mac browsers this scrolling prayer list writes over the login box. I have moved our scrolling prayer list below the login box. I really like the prayer list on the front page, since I have always thought it was the prayer warriors driving the web site, but it is also important for people to get their mail!!! So we will keep the scrolling prayer list, which works with the Internet Explorer browser, which is 90% of all browsers. However, the scrolling prayer box does not work with the Explorer browser on a Macintosh PC. So to keep 90% of the browser users happy, we will use the scrolling prayer box, and place it below the login box for Bornagain.com email..... whew. Got that? By moving things around a bit, everybody (100%) will be able to login and get their mail, and only 10% of the browsers will have problems in reading the scrolling prayer box. So for those of you that have a Mac PC, we encourage you to go directly to our prayer page.

Just another day in the web servant's life... and I truly am sorry about the broken front page which delayed the mail for our Mac users.

Your's in Christ, and still learning,
Job.
