Happy New Year!12/30/04It has been a tremendous blessing serving the Body of Christ through our website ministry. We will continue to look for new ways to expand and improve our website in 2005. The new year always brings hope for change and growth. The new year should also serve as a reminder of the importance of the birth of Christ, who brought new life to the world. While you are out celebrating this new year, be sure to ask yourself if you have received the new life in Jesus Christ. For those of you that do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, we encourage you to make a new years resolution to get involved in a good Bible believing Church, and ask Him to change your life. It will be the most important decision you will ever make. Your's in Christ, Job (the webservant at www.Christ.com) Islam and Christianity:

Merry Christmas!12/17/04As we enter this Christmas season, it is important to remember what we are celebrating in a world that is becoming more secular with each passing year. While it is almost certain that Christ was not actually born on "Dec. 25", this day has been chosen to celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, and what He did for us on the cross. It is also important to realize that every day is important on God's calendar, so be sure to keep Christ in your life throughout the year. As we get together with family and friends for this holiday season, remember to give thanks for the greatest present ever given to God's creation, and that is the freedom in Christ that comes as the free gift of salvation. It is also important to realize that although the Incarnate Christ came into the world 2000 years ago in the form of a baby in a manger, this same baby was the great IAM who was before time began, and through whom all of creation came into being. Christmas is about putting Jesus Christ in your life. The gifts we exchange are just a small reflection of the greatest gift ever given, so keep this in mind as we share our joy and good tidings this Christmas. It has been a true blessing serving you in 2004, and we pray that each and every one of you will have a Very Merry Christmas, and a truly blessed New Year. Your's in Christ, Job (the webservant at www.Christ.com) Target Stores Bans the Salvation ArmyChristian Boycott of Target Stores Gaining Momentum12/17/04In the above section we mention the importance of remembering the reason we celebrate Christmas in an increasingly secular world. It is also important to remember that the reason the world is growing more secular is because the Christian community is letting this happen. In a world where Christmas is viewed by many as nothing more than a shopping season, we are confronted with stores that only want your money and assume they will get it regardless of their anti-Christian attitudes (carefully concealed with a facade of season colors and lights). A good example of this Christmas facade is Target Stores. Target has chosen to ban the Salvation Army from its stores based on the Salvation Army's close adherence to the principles and doctrine found in God's Word, the Bible. The National Clergy Council has been trying to arrange a meeting with Target Stores in an attempt to understand Target's openly hostile treatment of the Christian community. It is worth drawing a parallel between the recent U.S. election and the current hostile attitude by some vendors like Target. In the recent election we had one party (the one that lost, the Democrats) that openly opposed many of the values held dear by the Church while at the same time asking Christians to support them in the polls. In this election the Church expressed its opinion at the polls and soundly rejected those politicians that opposed Christian morals. This was an important and painful lesson for some politicians in this past election, and apparently a lesson that has not yet been learned by Target Stores. As a Christian you are NOT called to support people or organizations that do not support your beliefs. To put it more plainly, if politicians do not support your beliefs, then don't vote for them. Along this same line of reasoning, you certainly do not need to spend your hard earned dollars at stores that do not support your beliefs. If you think banning the Salvation Army from Target Stores during Christmas is a reasonable thing to do, then you should express that belief with your shopping patterns. On the other hand, if you disagree with the Target Stores ban of the Salvation Army then you should express your opinion by shopping elsewhere. The Salvation Army has a long history of feeding and housing the homeless and bringing souls to a new life in Christ. We encourage you to put Christ back into Christmas this season, and support those stores that support the true spirit of Christmas... and of course remember when shopping to leave a generous offering in the Salvation Army red kettle. Have a Very Merry Christmas! |
Congratulations President Bush!11/9/04We would like to Congratulate President Bush on the outcome of the 2004 election. We all pray that the Lord gives the President wisdom and guidance in dealing with a complex and turbulent world. We also pray that the Lord will help him bring our nation together after a difficult and divisive election. This was an historic election. It caught the nation by surprise (as historic events do) and rattled everybodies way of thinking, including your most humble webservant, Job. The CBS news scandal shined a spotlight on what everybody had been saying for years, which is that all of the major news media have a highly liberal slant, and that CBS is the most slanted. After the forged document scandal at CBS, you would have thought that something might happen... In this case, the people are a little more aware of the liberal bias of the news, and there are more conservative (or at least less liberal) alternatives for news these days. The News about the New News Media:The shift in news to cable and radio brought about a whole new set of options for the listeners and viewers out there. No longer confined to the big 3 network evening news perspectives of the world, viewers are now tuning in to news and commentary on cable and radio, and it is making a difference. With the advent of cable TV, there is now a free market in the news business with all sides represented. If you are in a near monopoly business like the big 3 network news teams then this new freedom is frightening competition - competition for the first time. Have you noticed how common it is to hear disrespectful comments about Fox news? For the first time, there is a news agency (FOX) that presents a conservative/liberal view of the world, as opposed to a liberal/liberal, or perhaps a liberal/liberal/liberal/liberal/conservative view (4 liberals bashing on one conservative in a talk show hosted by liberals). Fox was out of pattern. It didn't have four liberals and one conservative. Fox was actually more like America, with a 50/50 split with strong conservatives matched with strong liberals. Fox has shows like Hannity and Colmes with one conservative and one liberal, O'Reilly (a liberal conservative), and other shows that don't follow the liberal/liberal party line held by the big networks. The fact that we finally have a broad range of perspectives from Fox on the conservative side (or mixed conservative and liberal), to CNN and CBS on the liberal side means that the viewer now has new freedoms in finding information about the world. The internet is now adding another new dimension to news reporting and investigation which further weakens the grip on the media held by the big networks. In the internet newsrooms the "bloggers" were credited with discovering the forgery of the documents used in the CBS news scandal. This was a major story in this election: The "lowly" internet news bloggers did the investigative reporting on a scandal at one of the largest news agencies on earth - CBS. The bloggers broke the story of the forged documents in the CBS news reports. This story was the turning of the tide in the battle for news. Dan Rather and big media were out of the drivers seat for this election, and John Kerry didn't know which way to drive, and John Edwards wasn't old enough to drive... game over. The talking heads at CBS and others now have competition. With over 50 percent of America considering itself "conservative" this is a problem for the big networks. Given the success of the conservative/liberal mix at Fox, we should pray that the other networks adopt a more conservative mix in both news coverage and general programming. The major news media have all stated that the Church was a major factor in this election. The most widely stated poll pointed out that "Moral Values" were the most important topics on the voter's minds when they walked into the voting booth. Moral Values even won out over terrorism and security! While President Bush deserves congratulations for a job and election well done, it should be pointed out that the Christian voters also deserve congratulations and thanks for choosing the right direction at an important time in history. Many of you voted for the first time, and learned the important lesson that voting matters. Some of you that didn't vote may have also learned this important lesson. Thank you for voting, since it helps the government understand how you want to be governed. Even if your candidate "lost" in this election, the government has heard your voice and can try to govern with with some sensitivities to the opposition. We have another election in two years for the House of Representatives and Senate, so stay in touch with the issues so you can cast your next vote on how you want your country to proceed. 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; This was a hard election, although nowhere near as hard on the country as the 2000 election. Hopefully the country can recover from its division a bit since President Bush had a clear victory at the polls. Remember that the Bible says to pray for your leaders... even if you did not vote for them. This election was a rare combination about both the messenger and the message, which explains the significant win for President Bush. The media readily admits to the "likability factor" with President Bush. The biggest factor in this election was not the messenger. It was not about the messenger and Botox, and quick tans, and booming voice, and empty promises. The biggest factor in this election was the message... and the liberal media is not admitting to that. This is a problem. Most liberals/progressives still think that the problem with this election is the messenger, and not the message, or perhaps think that they just didn't get their message across. Hear is a quick summary of the election, addressed to liberals. This is from the perspective of a conservative Christian that also has conservative politics in those areas that deal with God or His creation: Reasons why John Kerry and the Democrats Lost
In summary, George Bush won because he was a good leader that did a good job when confronted on 9/11 with one of the most devastating attacks on U.S. soil in our nation's history. He rose to the occasion and more than met the challenge. The opposition, represented by John Kerry and the Democrats, came with a poor messenger and a poor message. Even though President Bush was barely above the 50 percent mark in popularity, he won the election based on the challenge, and based on the challenger. This is important for the next election since the message from the opposition will be the same, unless society repents. The messenger will change in the next election, but the liberal/progressive message will stay the same. Start watching the different news stations to get different views. Hopefully by the next election we can move the U.S. a small step back towards its historically conservative roots... and back to a time when we could display the flag or the ten commandments without constant lawsuits... and back to a time when the judges were just judges, and not creating new law and legislating from the bench. We are not trying to build or vote for a theocracy. We are only trying to build a government of the people that is not openly hostile to God or God's people. One of the truly wonderful things that happened in this long confusing election is that God was glorified. God got a lot of air time this election, and undoubtedly more than a few converts as people came to question why everybody was talking about God in this election. The one thing you can count on is that our message will not change from one election to another, and the Messenger is always the same, Jesus Christ. It is the job of the Christian to become actively involved in their society in addition to good works in the Church. For most of you, that means simply educating yourself on the issues and making an informed vote during elections. For some of you, the Lord may lead you into becoming a Christian Senator, Congressman, or President, since He calls His people in all walks of life. There is an occasional question about whether Christians should be involved in politics. An excellent answer to this question is to ask if God would want a government where God's people are involved in voting and elective office, or would God want a government where Christians have no role or say in the government, and do not vote, and do not occupy elective office. Some Christians do not vote for "doctrinal reasons". Just pray about that, and have a blessed weekend. New Internet Prayer RoomI have been a bit behind getting things fixed on the site that relate to God's work, like our prayer board. The prayer board has allowed posted prayer for many years and was a blessing to all. After a few years of prayer service the spammers began using the prayer lists to send spam to the people requesting prayer. We removed all email addresses from our prayer lists last September, and have now installed a new prayer procedure that allows people to post prayers on our site with a hidden email address. After a prayer is posted you may receive responses and correspond with people reading your prayer using your hidden email address. It also allows you to block email from people that send offensive messages. The link to our new prayer site is below:Prayer Room The site also has an entrance at www.HolyofHolies.com which has an almost invisible front door labeled "Jesus" in light yellow on a white background. Just click on Jesus to enter the prayer room if you use the entrance at www.HolyofHolies.com. Same Prayer Room, with entrance at www.HolyofHolies.com Our prayer is that you will be blessed by our new internet prayer system. If you are a prayer warrior, then we encourage you to try out the new prayer board! |
