Christ.com Prayer and Praise Message BoardOur prayer and praise service now offers protections for prayer warriors against spam and offensive mail. Our prayer is that the prayer message board will be a blessing to the Body, and that it helps us all to grow in love for each other, and in prayer in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus. We also pray that we all grow in support of each other in both our prayer life, and in good works. Some of the prayer requests have contact information (coded E-Mail addresses), so please help if you can. To minimize spam sent to your permanent email address (or work address), we encourage you to sign up for a FREE email address at Bornagain.com, or use a yahoo.com or hotmail.com email address. The signup for free Bornagain.com email can be reached at the front page of www.Christ.com (same page as www.Bornagain.com)Contents:

Why we verify E-Mail addresses, and other PoliciesWe read and pray over everything that comes into our prayer service! This is not one of those "instant automatic prayer postings". This allows us to both pray for you, and filter out un-Godly messages. We do pray for the people posting un-Godly messages, even if we don't post them. The prayers are usually posted within a few days. We have policies on prayer and praise reports because there are wolves among the sheep.E-Mail VerificationFeel free to enter your E-Mail address since there may be others out there that can offer fellowship and direct help. This E-Mail address is purely optional, and allows others in the body to respond to your needs. Your E-Mail address will not be used by our service to enter your name onto public or private mailing lists. Our new prayer board does not list actual email addresses on a web page, but rather uses a specially coded program to help hide your email address. While our new process of hiding your email address is a great improvement over our previous prayer process of simply listing your address for the whole world to see, we do not (and cannot) guarantee that somehow your address might be revealed since programs and computers on the internet are always under attack. However, the new system is a major improvement over the previous system, so we believe it will be a blessing. The new prayer list should be a useful new tool for prayer warriors. The system allows God's people to post their prayers and use temporary mailboxes. These coded temporary mailboxes allow readers to discuss and pray over the prayer message posted on the website. This allows any person reading your mail to correspond with you (they get a private mailbox too). As an option, you may reveal your real email address to people replying to your prayer or praise message. To reveal your address, simply type it into the text reply to those that write you. Again, be careful about revealing your email address, since there are wolves among the sheep. All E-Mail addresses will be verified before publication or your message. If you do want to use your email address, you will be sent an E-Mail verification message to confirm your prayer request or praise report - You must respond to this E-Mail verification message in order to have your message posted on the prayer or praise list. Unlike most prayer posting services on the internet, we verify all E-Mail addresses. This is extra work for us, but we believe this is necessary for your protection. This prevents people from using your E-Mail address without your approval. The verification message is usually sent to you within minutes (sometimes seconds!), so check your mail for a message with a subject line of "Web-based Prayer Confirmation" or "Web-based Praise Confirmation". If you include the optional E-Mail address, and do not respond to the E-Mail verification message, your prayer or praise message will not be published (although we pray over all of our mail). E-Mail Responses to Your Posted Prayer or Praise MessageWhen people respond to your prayer request or praise report, we will also verify their email address, and hide their real email address from you and others. The email confirmation message sent to the person responding to your message will have a subject of "Web-based Prayer/Praise Response Confirmation". The person responding to your prayer or praise must also complete the email verification process to actually send you a message.NEW: E-Mail Addresses Are Now Hidden from Public ViewWe have instituted a new "cloaking process" that hides your e-mail address from public view. Since spammers routinely search for email addresses on the internet, our new prayer list contains your email address in a specially coded format. If a reader wants to respond to your prayer, they must click on a link that sends the reader's message to you, without revealing your address. The only way the readers of your prayer can find out your real email address is by you deliberately revealing your address to other readers, like when you respond to a reader that has sent you a message, and deliberately reveal your email address in your reply message to the other person.Last Names OmittedWe omit last names to protect the parties involved. The Lord knows who you are - He really doesn't need your last name, or your friend's last name. If you think people need the last name, then include your E-Mail address, and give the name to other readers by E-Mail. We also omit company names. This isn't an advertising service, it is a prayer house. If you need prayer for your business, feel free to post a prayer, but keep in mind, there are better places for commercials.DO NOT USE ALL CAPSPlease do not type in ALL CAPS when you type your message. We filter messages in all caps and convert them to lower case. All Mail Subject to Review and Christ.com Terms of ServiceThis mail is not to be used for routine mailings, spam, and must not contain profane or offensive content. The mail service is also not intended for business or monetary transactions. You should not send credit card information or other highly personal information with this service, since the messages do not use a secure server. Although your mail uses your mail address in a hidden format, it uses the servers at Christ.com, and is subject to review. In this sense, it is more like a private chat room conducted by email, where you can chat with another user, but your messages can be seen by the staff of Christ.com. If you want to exchange truly private mail, then you must exchange your real email address with the person with whom you wish to correspond in private. We reserve the right to terminate your service at any time for any reason, without notice. These rules apply to both the person posting a prayer or praise message on our website, and to the people responding to messages posted on our website.Limits on MessagingWe reserve the right to limit messaging through this prayer service. Such limits may be in the form of limits on numbers of messages sent or received by any party using the service. These limits may take the form of limits on daily message counts, total message counts, and limits on messages to or from any given party. To keep our servers online, we may change the limits on messaging (described below) without notice.Expiration of Hidden E-Mail AddressThe hidden e-mail address on prayer and praise messages are not intended to be used for long term messaging. They are intended to be used for a short period of time to meet people, and perhaps exhange your real email address with those people that you would like to establish long term contacts. Your hidden email address is good for at least 60 days (although we reserve the right to change this). The current system allows each person responding to your message to send you a maximum of five (5) messages, and allows you to respond to that person a total of five times. During this period, if you feel that it is safe, then you may reveal your true email address to the other person, and use regular email to correspond in private without limits. The five message limit per person allows a reasonable period of correspondence using a hidden email address, and gives you a period to "get to know the person" before revealing your real email address. This is a balance between guarding your email address with our hidden email address, and keeping our servers online (remember, we are offering this for free, which places a significant burder on our servers). During your 60+ day period of correspondence, you may have only a few people that respond, or you may have hundreds of people that respond, with each person that responds having a five message quota.Blocking E-Mail from Other UsersThis service was started after we noticed that our previous prayer service was used by spammers, and by people sending offensive messages to the posted prayers. The hidden email address should cut down on spam, but there will always be people out there that want to send offensive messages to people asking for prayer. To reduce offensive messages, we allow the individuals using the service to block email from specific users. This ability to block email applies to both the person posting a prayer or praise message on our site, and the people responding to these messages. If you block a persons mail, then you will no longer receive messages from that persons hidden email address. Since we have the ability to review any message, we may review messages that were associated with the blocked mail. In extreme cases, we may decide to place a semi-permanent block on that person's mail for all Christ.com services. The period of this blockade is typically seven years, and yes, we do have blockades in effect from 1997, so we are serious about this. This period of blockade is used to give the offender time to mature.Cooperation with Legal AuthoritiesWe occasionally volunteer information to legal authorities when we suspect that there may be illegal activity taking place using any of our services. We always surrender information to legal authorities when a request is made by court order. |
