The Earth is the Lord's, |
|
|
Exodus 15:1-18
- 1
- Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
- 2
- The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
- 3
- The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
- 4
- Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
- 5
- The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
- 6
- Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
- 7
- And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
- 8
- And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
- 9
- The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
- 10
- Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
- 11
- Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
- 12
- Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
- 13
- Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
- 14
- The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
- 15
- Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
- 16
- Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
- 17
- Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which thy hands have established.
- 18
- The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

- 18
- For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

- Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
- 6

- 7
- And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

- 2
- Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
- 3
- Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
- 4
- Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
- 5
- Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
- 6
- Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
- 7
- But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
- 8
- And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

- 1
- Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
- 2
- That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
- 3
- Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
- 4
- Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
- 5
- Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
- 6
- And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
- 7
- For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
- 8
- And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
- 9
- Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
- 10
- And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
- 11
- And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
- 12
- That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
- 13
- But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
- 14
- Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 15
- Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

- 2
- My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
- 3
- Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
- 4
- But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
- 5
- If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
- 6
- But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
- 7
- For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
- 8
- A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
- 9
- Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
- 10
- But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
- 11
- For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
- 12
- Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
- 13
- Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
- 14
- But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
- 15
- Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
- 16
- Do not err, my beloved brethren.
- 17
- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

1 Peter 5:1-11
- 1
- The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
- 2
- Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
- 3
- Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
- 4
- And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
- 5
- Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
- 6
- Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
- 7
- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
- 8
- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
- 9
- Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
- 10
- But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
- 11
- To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
